Description: This 27 x 41 inch full-size theatrical one-sheet is the same poster that graced theaters for the 1981 re-release of The Empire Strikes Back. The art is by designer/illustrator Tom Jung, the only artist to have painted a poster for each of the original trilogy movies, including the very first illustrated poster for Star Wars. Of note, this is the very first U.S. theatrical poster to show Yoda. The Jedi Master was a secret when the original release posters came out. This art uses some elements from the original Empire Style "B" poster. But here, Luke is under the menacing figure of Darth Vader, perhaps subtly suggesting the father/son relationship that so shocked fans in 1980. These posters come from the Lucasfilm Marketing archives.Each poster is beautifully set in a black wood frame with plexi-glass and a 1/4" spacer between the glass and the artwork to give depth to the piece. The posters are mounted on acid free foam core to protect from moisture and prolong the life of the piece. Limited quantities available.
