| | Description: Order fast before inventory runs out -- only 300 patch sets available! This patch set offers a unique set of two The Empire Strikes Back patches and a Return of the Jedi patch. The Empire Strikes Back patches were used by Lucasfilm Marketing, Publicity, and the Official Fan Club around the time of the release of The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, and are a complementary set. The first version was done with Star Wars and the border in red, with white letters for the film title; these were produced in relatively small quantities. When the final color combination was reversed and new patches were made, the result was a matched set. Each image was used as cover art for the 1998-1999 Dark Horse Comics editions of Japanese Manga comics. The three images are issue #1 of each series: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The work is by New England-born artist Adam Warren, whose Japanese anime-influenced work has made him one of this country's hottest comic artists. This was supposed to be the only poster for the Special Edition releases, but George Lucas decided that he also wanted individual art posters for each movie, and hired artist Drew Struzan to do them. But the "Ingot Campaign" poster remained the overall umbrella, and was used by itself in many international territories. This is the first version of the Ingot poster.
